  • 4/17/2017: Governor Susana Martinez vetoed all funding for public higher education in New Mexico. She has also vetoed funding for the legislature, effective July 1. This prevents colleges and universities from setting budgets and may lead to tuition increases for students. K-12 schools in New Mexico are also facing a budget shortfall, as per-pupil spending has decreased 7% over the last nine years. [1]
